Mimmo migrated to the US at the age of 18 where he lived in New York for several years. There he learned how to make pizza and later met his future wife, Ann. After working in construction for a while with his older brother, Mimmo decided he wanted to open a restaurant.
In true Italian fashion, Mimmo knew a guy who had a restaurant for sale in North Carolina. He and Ann decided to take a leap of faith and after marrying in Brooklyn, NY moved to Goldsboro, NC. Although Ann says that she didn't sleep for two years because it was too quiet, 31 years later they both agree that there is no place they would rather live.
Mimmo and Ann have been serving authentic Italian food to the great patrons of Goldsboro since 1985. Their three daughters, Domenica, Monique and Antonietta, have all worked in the restaurant.
We hope you enjoy your visit to Mimmo's and will come back to see us again soon!
